Milwaukee Bucks lock down late to beat Brooklyn Nets

Jared Dudley had 19 points, Khris Middleton tallied 18 and the Milwaukee Bucks battled for a 103-97 win over the Brooklyn Nets on Monday night.

O.J. Mayo scored 15 points off the bench for the Bucks and Giannis Antetokounmpo nearly recorded a triple-double with 12 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.

Milwaukee has won seven of their last eight overall and five straight at home.

Jarrett Jack pumped in 26 points with eight assists and Joe Johnson accounted for 19 points to go along with six assists for the Nets, who have lost two straight since a three-game winning streak.

The Bucks, who were down as many as 17 early in the contest, went up by 12 after Ersan Ilysova buried a 3-pointer with over 10 minutes left in the game.

Jack then started a 9-2 burst for Brooklyn with a 3-pointer, and Johnson deposited a 3-pointer minutes later to cut its deficit to 89-84 at the midway point of the fourth.

Milwaukee went up 11 after a Jerryd Bayless layup with over two minutes left prior to Jack netting five points in a 23-second span. Brook Lopez was whistled for a technical foul after a shooting foul on Zaza Pachulia and the Bucks made 2-of-3 from the line to restore an eight-point cushion.

Brooklyn led 30-24 after the first quarter, then opened the second on an 11-0 run. Milwaukee did not score until Antetokounmpo netted a pair of free throws 4:54 into the second. Dudley followed with a 3-pointer on the next Bucks possession and he capped the 12-2 run with another trey to help them cut the deficit to 43-36 with over four minutes left in the half.

The Nets led 52-47 at the break and Milwaukee used a late surge to go in front at the end of the third.

Brandon Knight's layup tied the game at 56-56 early in the quarter. Milwaukee ended the final 5:26 of the frame on a 13-3 for a 79-68 advantage entering the fourth.
