NCAA Game Summary - Boston College at Georgia Tech

Olivier Hanlan scored 25 points and pulled down seven rebounds as the Boston College Eagles escaped with a 64-62 Atlantic Coast Conference win over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Sunday at McCamish Pavilion.

Patrick Heckmann chipped in with 12 points, and Aaron Brown added 11 in the win for Boston College (9-9, 1-5 ACC), which ended a two-game skid.

Marcus Georges-Hunt scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Georgia Tech (9-10, 0-7), which has dropped seven consecutive decisions. Quinton Stephens tallied 17 points with three blocked shots off the bench in the loss.

Boston College connected on just 35.7 percent shooting from the floor in the first half, but still managed to take a narrow 26-24 advantage into the intermission after Georgia Tech shot 33.3 percent in the frame.

The Eagles improved to a blistering 59.1 percent shooting mark in the second half, and made 5-of-8 from 3-point range. The Yellow Jackets recovered from an 11-point deficit midway through the second period to cut the BC lead to one with six seconds to play thanks to 42.9 percent shooting, but the Eagles held on until the buzzer for the victory.

Boston College held a slight advantage in scoring in the paint, 28-24, and hit one more 3-point attempt (nine made tries compared to eight for Georgia Tech) to help the team to the win.
