NCAA Game Summary - Old Dominion at UAB

Led by 12 points and seven rebounds from Tosin Mehinti, the UAB Blazers toppled the Old Dominion Monarchs, 81-68, in a Conference USA clash at Bartow Arena.

For the Blazers (10-10, 6-1 C-USA), Nick Norton and Robert Brown also finished with 12 points, while Chris Cokley and C.J. Washington scored 10 points apiece.

Aaron Bacote finished with a game-high 23 points to pace the Monarchs (15-4, 4-3), while Trey Freeman finished with 18 points.

UAB went into halftime holding a 40-32 advantage, shooting a scorching 75.0 percent from the field in the first half, including 4-of-5 from beyond the arc. Old Dominion hit on 46.2 percent of its field goal tries in the period, but just 2-of-6 from 3-point range.

The Blazers continued their sharp shooting in the second half, as they drained 64.7 percent of their shots from the field. The Monarchs could not match that, shooting just 42.9 percent from the field, including 2-of-8 from beyond the arc. The Blazers cruised down the stretch, thanks to a perfect 18-of-18 at the free-throw line, to secure the their sixth victory in the last seven tries.

The Blazers had a strong night shooting at the charity stripe, hitting on an impressive 24-of-26.
