Georgia has rewarded football coach Mark Richt with a two-year contract extension through the 2019 season.
Richt will also receive a raise from $3.2 million to $4 million per season.
"We are very pleased with the direction of our program under Mark's leadership," said Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity. "Mark and his staff are making significant strides in all areas of our program, and we look forward to great things in the years to come."
Richt has spent 14 seasons as Georgia's head coach and owns a record of 136-48 with a pair of SEC championships. This year's squad was 10-3 with a Belk Bowl win over Louisville.
"I appreciate the confidence that Greg McGarity has in the direction of our football program and how we represent the University of Georgia," said Richt. "Our staff has an outstanding work ethic and we are committed to the development of our student-athletes on and off the field."
Only Vince Dooley and Wallace Butts have longer tenures and more wins at Georgia than Richt. Dooley spent 25 seasons with the Bulldogs and picked up 201 wins from 1964-88, while Butts had 140 wins in 22 seasons from 1939-60.
The Bulldogs won SEC titles in 2002 and 2005 under Richt, also reaching the conference championship game on three other occasions. He was the SEC's top coach in 2002, his second year at the helm.
