The Baltimore Ravens hired former Chicago Bears head coach Marc Trestman as their new offensive coordinator on Tuesday.
Trestman will be an offensive coordinator in the NFL for a fifth time. He takes over for Gary Kubiak, who left to coach the Denver Broncos after one season as Ravens offensive coordinator.
Kubiak, who was hired last January after being fired as coach of the Houston Texans, guided the Ravens offense to a franchise-record 364.9 yards per game, 12th in the NFL.
Trestman, 59, was 13-19 in two seasons as Chicago's head coach and was fired last month following a 5-11 season, the Bears' worst in 10 years.
They ranked 21st in the NFL with 327.1 yards of offense per game and scored the 10th-fewest points in the league.
Prior to joining the Bears, Trestman coached the Canadian Football League's Montreal Alouettes for five years, winning back-to-back Grey Cups in 2009-10.
Before that, he had a long career as an assistant, including stints as an NFL offensive coordinator for Cleveland, San Francisco, Arizona and Oakland and as a college offensive coordinator at North Carolina State.
