Dak Prescott will be back for his senior season at Mississippi State, the standout quarterback announced Wednesday during a press conference.
Prescott had considered entering the upcoming NFL Draft after putting together a breakout 2014 season in which the dual-threat quarterback established school records of 3,449 passing yards and 27 touchdown passes while rushing for 986 yards and 14 more scores.
Those efforts helped Mississippi State to a 10-3 record and a ranking of No. 11 in the final Associated Press Top 25 poll, the best finish since 1940, as well as a berth in the Orange Bowl.
The Bulldogs were ranked No. 1 for five straight weeks from Oct. 12-Nov. 5, but lost three of their final four games following a 9-0 start
"Going 1-3 in our last four games, I wouldn't want to leave such a special place on that note," Prescott said.
With Prescott under center, Mississippi State finished eighth in FBS in total offense (513.8 yards per game) and averaged 36.9 points per game.
