NCAA Game Summary - SMU at Michigan

Yanick Moreira shot 7-of-9 from the field en route to a game-high 19 points, as the SMU Mustangs notched a 62-51 win over the Michigan Wolverines in non-conference play at the Crisler Center.

Nic Moore chipped in with 17 points to help the Mustangs (8-3) extend their winning streak to six in a row.

Zak Irvin led the way with 17 points for the Wolverines (6-5), who have now dropped four straight. Mark Donnal contributed a career-high 13 points in 14 minutes off the bench, while Derrick Walton, Jr. finished with 11 points.

SMU led by only a 30-27 margin at halftime, despite holding the Wolverines to 34.6-percent shooting from the floor in the opening period.

Michigan took a 41-40 lead on a 3-pointer by Walton with 10:36 to play in regulation. However, the Wolverines went cold from there, while SMU went on a 17-0 run to pull away down the stretch.

The Mustangs, who held a 44-27 rebounding advantage for the game, welcomed back standout forward Markus Kennedy, who sat out the first semester after being ruled academically ineligible. Kennedy finished with five points and three rebounds in 10 minutes of floor time off the bench.
