NCAA Game Summary - Western Michigan at Northeastern

Scott Eatherton tallied a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds, as the Northeastern Huskies downed the Western Michigan Broncos, 81-69, in non-conference action at Matthews Arena.

David Walker scored 19 points while making all eight of his free-throw attempts for Northeastern (6-2), which has won two of three. Quincy Ford logged 13 points and nine rebounds, while T.J. Williams added 12 points and five assists.

For WMU (5-3), Austin Richie shot 6-of-9 from 3-point range en route to 18 points. Tucker Haymond (17), Connar Tava (16) and David Brown (10) also scored in double figures.

Northeastern shot 41.4 percent from the field in the first half and made all seven of its free-throw tries, as it carried a 35-25 lead into intermission. WMU shot only 38.5 percent from the floor in the opening 20 minutes.

The Broncos brought their deficit to just six midway through the second half, but the Huskies pulled away with a 10-2 run.

Northeastern won the rebounding battle, 40-26, and outscored WMU in the paint, 34-28.
