NCAA Game Summary - Hawaii vs. San Francisco

Tim Derksen scored 21 points and Kruize Pinkins had a double-double to lead the San Francisco Dons to an 88-73 win over the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors in the Gulf Coast Showcase at Germain Arena.

Pinkins finished with 19 points and 12 rebounds for San Francisco (3-0), while Matt Glover added 15 points and eight boards. Mark Tollefsen contributed 11 points and eight rebounds as well.

Aaron Valdes tallied 18 points for Hawaii (4-2), which also got 13 points from Mike Thomas and 10 from Roderick Bobbitt.

San Francisco clung to a 34-30 lead at halftime, making up for a 32.4 percent shooting effort by collecting 11 offensive rebounds, which led to as many second chance points. Hawaii made 41.7 percent of its first half field goal tries, but didn't have as much success on the offensive glass, with only two rebounds on that end.

The Dons dominated in the second half, inflating their advantage by shooting 66.7 percent from the floor, which was much better than the 33.3 percent effort from the Rainbow Warriors.

San Francisco enjoyed a 51-31 advantage on the glass in the 15-point victory.
