Nuggets waive Marcus Williams

The Denver Nuggets waived forward Marcus Williams on Wednesday.

Williams, who appeared in six preseason games, last played in the NBA with Memphis during the 2009-10 season.

The 28-year-old owns career averages of 5.6 points and 1.8 rebounds over 203 games with New Jersey, Golden State and Memphis.

The Nuggets also waived forward Jerrelle Benimon to trim their roster down to 16 players.
