KANSAS CITY, Mo., Oct. 22 (UPI) -- Fox Sports' Erin Andrews had an award interview with San Francisco Giants Hunter Pence after Game 1 of the World Series after misquoting her interviewee.

Andrews pulled Pence aside for a post-game interview and she asked about some locker room talk and accidentally put words into Pence's mouth.

"You told us today the theme would kind of be there's nothing to fear," said Andrews. "You just handed the Royals their first loss of the postseason, you absolutely took this crowd out of it, what's the next message in that clubhouse?"

Pence corrected his interviewer.

"Yeah, that wasn't the message, and I wasn't the speaker. It was actually Casilla," said Pence.

Andrews asked for confirmation of the theme.

"Nah, I said make your peace with the King of kings and enjoy it," he said.

"You know I love it," said Andrews to end the interview.

The San Francisco Giants beat the Kansas City Royals 7-1 for Game 1. Game 2 will be aired on Fox Wednesday night.
