NHL Game Summary - Detroit at Boston

Gustav Nyquist and Andrej Nestrasil both scored in the shootout to lead the Detroit Red Wings to a 4-3 victory over the Boston Bruins in the preseason finale for both teams.

Xavier Ouellet and Nestrasil both scored on the power play in regulation, while Riley Sheahan supplied a goal and an assist for Detroit, which opens its season at home against Boston on Thursday.

Petr Mrazek made 20 saves in the win.

Patrice Bergeron notched a hat trick and Tuukka Rask turned aside 26 shots for the Bruins, who will kick off the regular season by hosting Philadelphia on Wednesday.

Earlier on Saturday, Boston sent defenseman Johnny Boychuk to the New York Islanders in exchange for second-round picks in the 2015 and 2016 NHL Entry Drafts as well as a conditional future third-round selection.
