NASHVILLE, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Former Titans kicker Rob Bironas allegedly threatened to kill two students before trying to run another car off the road and then fatally crashing his own vehicle.

Connor Fraley, 20, a passenger in the truck, said Bironas threatened to kill them by running the vehicle off the road. Fraley voiced the accusation after a woman called 911 Saturday night and accused the football player of trying to run her off the road before fatally crashing his vehicle.

Shortly after Bironas' wife reported him missing, Fraley said he and the other passenger pulled the car up to his to warn him of a burning smell emanating from his vehicle when Bironas threatened to kill them and sideswipe their truck.

"His window was down, and we pulled up and I said, 'Hey man, just a heads up, something's burning from your exhaust. Your exhaust smells horrible, just wanted to let you know,'" said Fraley. "He looked over at me and said 'I'm going to kill everybody in your [expletive] vehicle.' It was so random, so bizarre I was like, 'What?' And he said the exact same thing again."

Fraley said Bironas proceeded to chase them when they sped away, but they eventually lost him. Sometime after that he tried to run a woman and her husband off the road, leading them to call 911. Bironas then lost control of his SUV, hit several trees and then landed in a culvert.

The results from Bironas' autopsy could take several weeks before the toxicology report is available. His wife, Rachel Bradshaw, said he was not intoxicated when he left the house and he only had a beer earlier in the evening.
