PITTSBURGH, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Linebacker James Harrison is coming out of a three-week retirement to once again suit up with the Pittsburgh Steelers after meeting with team officials Tuesday.

The decision was made after two of the star linebackers, Jarvis Jones and rookie Ryan Shazier, were injured.

Harrison announced his retirement on Aug. 30 after one season with the Cincinnati Bengals, but tweeted his confirmation of the comeback after discussions with the Steelers coaches.

Shazier will be out for a couple of weeks with a sprained knee and Jones will be out for at least eight weeks with a dislocated wrist.

His return to the Steelers signaled there are no hard feelings after he switched to the Bengals for a season following a disagreement over pay with the Pittsburgh team in 2013, reports ESPN.

"It's really family here, and I wanted to come back and finish it off where it started," said Harrison.
