Steelers erupt in 2nd half, hand Panthers 1st loss

Ben Roethlisberger threw two second-half touchdown passes to Antonio Brown as the Pittsburgh Steelers downed the Carolina Panthers 37-19 on Sunday night.

Le'Veon Bell had 147 yards on 21 carries and LeGarrette Blount ran 10 times for 118 yards and a touchdown, giving the Steelers (2-1) two 100-yard rushers in a game for the first time since 1986.

Roethlisberger was 22-of-30 for 196 yards, while Brown finished with 90 yards on 10 receptions.

Cam Newton completed 24-of-35 passes for 250 yards and a touchdown, but fumbled on Carolina's opening drive of the third quarter.

The Panthers (2-1) had won eight consecutive regular-season games at home.
