The Clemson product carried the ball 118 times for 652 yards and three touchdowns in 15 games for the Cardinals last season. He also caught 39 passes for 371 yards and a touchdown.

Jonathan Dwyer and Stepfan Taylor are next in line if Ellington can't go Monday.

Second-year defensive back Tyrann Mathieu (knee) and punter Dave Zastudil (groin) are also questionable.

The Cardinals also released linebacker Desmond Bishop on Saturday. He was signed by the Cardinals as a free agent on Aug. 14.

Bishop played in four games (one start) with the Minnesota Vikings in 2013 before tearing his ACL.
