LOS ANGELES, Sept. 4 (UPI) -- She might have been opening for Clayton Kershaw, but 13-year-old Mo'ne Davis stole the show at Dodgers' stadium Tuesday, nailing a strike across the plate as she threw out the game's ceremonial first pitch.
Since bursting into American sports consciousness at the Little League World Series, Mo'ne has affectionately smack-talked the Dodgers ace, first proudly telling ESPN, "I throw my curveball like Clayton Kershaw and my fastball like Mo'ne Davis" and later challenging Kershaw to a "pitch off."
