NEW YORK, Sept. 3 (UPI) -- Michael Vick just earned himself a new job on the air with WFAN radio in New York. And, no, that doesn't mean he's leaving his main gig as backup quarterback for the New York Jets.

The NFL player will have a weekly spot Tuesday afternoons with sports talk show host Mike Francesa, the station announced Tuesday.

Francesa said Vick was the one who sought out the deal.

"I'm surprised by that myself," Francesa said on the air. "It was started by the Vick camp. They wanted to do something this year on Tuesdays. I'm glad to do it with them. Remarkably, the Jets said yes. That surprised me. . . . I'm looking forward to it."

Tuesdays are typically a day off for NFL players, so the new arrangement should work with Vick's schedule just fine.
