Bears waive Hayden, finalize roster

The Chicago Bears waived cornerback Kelvin Hayden when setting their 53-man roster on Saturday.

Hayden was also a training camp casualty last summer, tearing his hamstring and spending the season on injured reserve.

The 31-year-old joined the Bears in 2012 and played in all 16 games with two starts. He recorded 40 tackles with an interception that season.

Hayden has compiled 345 tackles and 12 interceptions in 101 career games with Chicago, Atlanta and Indianapolis.

Veteran offensive lineman Eben Britton, who played 13 games for the Bears last season, as well as Austen Lane. who has played 30 games in the NFL the past four years, were also released.

The club also waived wide receivers Josh Bellamy, Dale Moss and Chris Williams, center Taylor Boggs, defensive tackles Brandon Dunn, Lee Pegues and Tracy Robertson, safety Marcus Trice, cornerbacks C. J. Wilson and Al Louis- Jean, linebackers Jerry Franklin and DeDe Lattimore and guard Ryan Groy.

Safety M. D. Jennings was waived with an injury settlement.
