Denver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker suffered a concussion during Saturday's preseason game against Houston.

Welker was hurt after taking a hit from Houston defensive back D.J. Swearinger late in the second quarter.

"He'll go through the protocol," said Broncos coach John Fox after the game. "He won't come back until he's ready to come back."

Welker sustained a pair of concussions last year and missed the final three games of the 2013 regular season.
