Orioles recall Gonzalez to start

The Baltimore Orioles recalled pitcher Miguel Gonzalez from Double-A Bowie to start the finale of a three-game set against the Chicago Cubs on Sunday.

Gonzalez is 6-6 with a 3.80 earned run average this season in 20 games (19 starts) for the Orioles.

Baltimore designated infielder Cord Phelps for assignment to make room for Gonzalez on the roster.
