Cavs sign Powell

The Cleveland Cavaliers signed forward Dwight Powell on Saturday.

Powell, the 45th pick of the 2014 draft, was acquired along with center Brendan Haywood from Charlotte on July 12 for guard Scott Hopson and cash considerations.

The Stanford product averaged 14.0 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists in his senior season and was named the Pac-12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
