QPR strike loan deal for Vargas

Queen Park Rangers confirmed the signing of Chilean international Eduardo Vargas on a season-long loan from Serie A side Napoli on Thursday.

Vargas, 24, has scored 15 goals in 32 appearances for his country and helped Chile reach the knockout stages of the World Cup earlier this summer.

"Eduardo is a quality player. He's sharp, he's bright, and he's very lively on and off the ball," QPR manager Harry Redknapp said via the club's official Twitter account. "He can play as a number nine, he can play in behind, he can play wide, he's very versatile."

"I've come here to do as much as I can and I'm very happy to play for QPR," Vargas said. "It's a very exciting league and a super-competitive league and a lot of players look forward to coming to play here in England. I'm looking forward to it."

Vargas becomes QPR's second signing in as many days as the club completed a deal to bring defender Leroy Fer to Loftus Road from Norwich City on Wednesday.
