Chicago has been searching for a No. 3 wide receiver ever since Marquess Wilson suffered a fractured clavicle earlier this month.

Holmes caught 23 passes for 456 yards and one touchdown in 11 games last season with the Jets. The Ohio State product was limited to just four games in 2012 after suffering a Lisfranc injury in his left foot.

The Jets acquired Holmes from the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a fifth- round draft pick in April 2010. While with Pittsburgh, Holmes caught the game- winning touchdown in Super Bowl XLIII and posted career-highs with 79 catches for 1,248 yards and also hauled in five touchdowns in 2009.

The Steelers selected Holmes with the 25th overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft.

Over 103 career games with the Steelers and Jets, Holmes has 381 receptions for 5,963 yards and 36 touchdowns.
