The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed defensive end Larry English on Thursday.

English, who was selected 16th overall by the San Diego Chargers in 2009, played in nine games last season (five starts), registering 18 tackles and 2 1/2 sacks.

The 28-year-old has compiled 91 tackles and 11 sacks in 52 career games across five seasons with the Chargers.

To make room for English on the roster, Tampa Bay waived/injured rookie defensive tackle Jibreel Black.
