Pirates claim victory against Marlins

Ike Davis and Gaby Sanchez each knocked in two runs to help the Pittsburgh Pirates to a 7-3 win over the Miami Marlins on Wednesday.

Ike Davis and Gaby Sanchez each knocked in two runs to help the Pittsburgh Pirates to a 7-3 win over the Miami Marlins on Wednesday.

Jeff Locke (3-3) allowed three runs on six hits with seven strikeouts over seven innings to grab the win.

Josh Harrison went 3-for-4 with two runs out of the leadoff spot for Pittsburgh, while Russell Martin, Travis Snider and Jordy Mercer each contributed an RBI.

Tom Koehler (7-9) took the loss after yielding four runs on five hits over six innings on the hill.

Christian Yelich hit a homer in defeat and Jeff Baker knocked in the other run for Miami, who have lost two of three.
