The Ontario native, who was drafted 20th overall by the Rangers in 2008, has recorded 27 goals and 99 assists in 317 games, spanning five seasons. In 32 career playoff games, he has registered three points and nine assists.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Flyers announced that 39-year-old defenseman Kimmo Timonen was diagnosed with blood clots in his lower right leg and both lungs. He is being treated in his home country of Finland and a return date has not been set.
