The Cincinnati Bengals and quarterback Andy Dalton have reportedly agreed to a long-term contract.
According to the club's website, Dalton has a six-year extension in place through the 2020 season that will make him the team's highest-paid player. ESPN has reported it to be worth $115 million.
Dalton has been the Bengals' starting quarterback since the club selected him in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He has helped the team to a record of 30-18 and three straight playoff appearances during his brief tenure. The Bengals have yet to win a playoff game in that span, though, losing in the wild card round each time.
In 16 games last season, the TCU product threw for franchise records of 4,293 yards and 33 touchdowns with 20 interceptions as the Bengals captured the AFC North title. Cincinnati went on to lose a home playoff game to San Diego.
Dalton has thrown for 11,360 yards with 80 touchdowns and 49 interceptions in 48 games, all starts. He has also run for seven scores.
