LAS VEGAS, July 12 (UPI) -- UFC President Dana White said he intends to sign Gina Carano to a contract next week.

White told ESPN.com he plans to meet with Carano, her lawyer and UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta to discuss the contract before the end of next week.

"One down, one to go," White said, referring to the recent signing of Holly Holm to the female bantamweight division. "I'm going to meet with Gina next week and get that [expletive] thing done. Next week, man.

Carano, the former face of female MMA, hasn't fought since 2009.

"There is no doubt about it, she wants to fight," White said. "And she wants to fight Ronda [Rousey]." Rousey is the undefeated current -- and first -- UFC Women's Bantamweight champion.
