Taurasi, Charles named WNBA Players of the Week

Phoenix Mercury guard Diana Taurasi and New York Liberty center Tina Charles were selected as the WNBA's Players of the Week for the period from June 30 through July 6.

Taurasi earned her second Western Conference Player of the Week award of the season after averaging 23.5 points and shooting over 50 percent from the floor and 60 percent from beyond the arc in two wins for the Mercury.

Charles averaged 30.0 points and 12.0 rebounds in a pair of Liberty victories to capture the Eastern Conference Player of the Week award.
