Flames re-sign Byron

The Calgary Flames have re-signed center Paul Byron to a one-year contract.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Byron appeared in 47 games for the Flames last season and compiled career highs of seven goals, 14 assists and 21 points.

The 25-year-old Ottawa native made his NHL debut during the 2010-11 season with Buffalo and was traded to Calgary in June 2011. He has 11 goals and 29 points in 81 NHL games for the Sabres and Flames.
