Blue Jackets ink F Gibbons

The Columbus Blue Jackets signed forward Brian Gibbons to a one-year, two-way contract on Friday.

Gibbons, 26, made his NHL debut with the Pittsburgh Penguins last season, posting five goals with 12 assists in 41 games. He added two goals and one assist in eight playoff games.

The Massachusetts native won NCAA titles with Boston College in 2008 and 2010.
