Taken in the second round of the 2001 draft by St. Louis, McClement has participated in 682 games for the Blues, Colorado and Toronto and accumulated 204 points (75G, 129A).

Carolina also signed Greg Nemisz to a one-year, two-way deal. A 2008 first- round pick of the Flames in 2008, Nemisz has spent the majority of his career in the American Hockey League. He totaled eight goals and 20 points in 46 appearances for Abbotsford and Charlotte last season.
