RECIFE, Brazil, June 26 (UPI) -- The World Cup game between the United States and Germany is supposed to kick off in less than three hours, and many people are still a long ways away from the stadium.

The rain is coming down fast and furious in Recife, Brazil, and it remains to be seen what condition the pitch will be in when the two teams take the field.

"With all the rain that has fallen in the last day or two, field conditions will be muddy and wet for the match Thursday afternoon, which could slow down play," according to AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Rob Miller.

The rain and drizzle are expected to continue through the match. The area is also expected to be incredibly humid during the game.

Hopefully the game will begin on time.
