Scooter Gennett finished 2-for-5 with a grand slam and five RBI, as Milwaukee bested Washington, 9-2, in Wednesday's finale of a three-game series.

Khris Davis added a solo homer and two-run single for the Brewers, who avoided a sweep and won for the seventh time in 10 overall. Carlos Gomez added three hits, an RBI and scored once for the victorious hosts.

Marco Estrada (7-4) departed after 6 1/3 innings having given up just two runs and as many hits with four walks and four strikeouts.

Nate McLouth and Ian Desmond drove in a run each for the Nationals, whose four-game win streak came to an end.

Stephen Strasburg (6-6) was touched for eight hits and seven runs over 4 2/3 frames in the loss.
