Marlon Byrd crushed a two-run blast to power the Philadelphia Phillies to a 7-4 win against the Miami Marlins in the second installment of a four-game series at Citizens Bank Park.

Cody Asche doubled in two runs for the Phillies, who snapped a three-game skid, when they scored a combined four runs.

Coming off his best big league outing, David Buchanan (4-3) had another effective performance. He tossed five innings, allowing two runs on six hits and four walks to win his third straight start.

In his second career start, Andrew Heaney (0-2) yielded five runs on four hits while fanning five across five-plus innings.

Garrett Jones connected on a two-run homer and Casey McGehee had an RBI for Miami, which has lost three of its last four contests.
