On average, soccer players run seven miles per game, but some players have been recorded running up to 9.5 miles during the course of a match. The mileage varies by position -- goalkeepers run the least while midfielders run the most -- but soccer players average more milage than athletes in baseball, basketball, American football and tennis, according to Gizmodo.
Teams use SportVU technology to track how far the players run in a game. The pitches are between 100 and 130 yards long and each game lasts 90 minutes.
