Solo was arrested Saturday after an altercation at her sister's home in Kirkland, a Seattle suburb, where the 32-year-old athlete allegedly attacked her 17-year-old nephew and his mother.
Solo was released from jail after Kirkland Municipal Court Judge Michael J. Lambo determined that she posed no flight risk. He ordered her to refrain from alcohol use and to stay away from her half-sister and nephew.
The courtroom hearing offered additional details about the incident leading to Solo's arrest.
According to court documents, officers responded to a 911 call in the early hours of Saturday morning. Police said they Solo was drunk and hitting people.
After identifying injuries on Solo's sister and nephew, officials said they determined that the soccer star was "the primary aggressor and had instigated the assault."
In an affidavit, Solo's nephew claimed that she "upset about the fact that her husband [former NFL Star Jerramy Stevens] refused to take her to catch a flight because he was being a jerk." The teen also said that Solo called him "fat" and "crazy."
"Hope is not guilty of any crime," Solo's attorney said in a statement. "In fact, our investigation reveals that Hope was assaulted and injured during this unfortunate incident. We look forward to the opportunity to present the true facts in court and to having this matter behind Hope very soon."
Solo's team, Seattle Reign FC, issued a statement via Twitter on Saturday.
We are aware of the situation with Hope and are now gathering information. We do not have any additional information to share at this time.
Solo is due back in court on August 11.
