Quartz produced a chart that shows players from Russia, Chile, Mexico, and Bosnia and Herzegovina are required to remain celibate while they play in the World Cup. Germany, Spain, the U.S., Australia, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Uruguay and England are permitted to have sex during the tournament; although players from Germany and Spain are told not to have sex the night before a game.
The other countries participating either have "complicated" rules about sex restrictions or the coaches would not divulge their policies. Despite scientific evidence proving otherwise, some teams still hold on to the superstition.
