John Gatlin's pinch-hit RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning Tuesday lifted Ole Miss to a 2-1 win over Texas Tech at the College World Series.

The result kept the Rebels alive in the double-elimination tournament and ousted the Red Raiders, who were appearing in the College World Series for the first time.

Ole Miss will play again Thursday against the loser of Tuesday's TCU-Virginia game. The loser of Thursday's game will be eliminated.

Texas Tech had rallied to tie the game in the top of the ninth on a Anthony Lyons' pinch-hit sacrifice fly. Pinch-runner Zach Davis scored on the play after stealing second and third base.

The game was scoreless until Holt Perdzock's pinch-hit RBI single in the seventh inning.
