Memphis Grizzlies forward James Johnson was arrested early Saturday morning on a domestic assault charge, according to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office.

Johnson, 27, has been charged with domestic assault-bodily harm and is scheduled to be in court on Monday.

The Commercial Appeal reports Johnson was apprehended by Memphis police following a dispute with his wife. Johnson's wife called police claiming Johnson hit her in the face and choked her.

Johnson is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

In five NBA seasons with the Bulls, Raptors, Kings and Grizzlies, Johnson holds averages of 6.5 points and 3.2 rebounds per game.
