West Ham United goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen has signed a one-year contract extension to remain at Upton Park, the Premier League club announced on Wednesday.
Jaaskelainen, 39, joined the Hammers in 2012 from Bolton on a free transfer and will hope to challenge for a starting spot after being usurped by Adrian last season.
Jaaskelainen made just 18 league appearances last campaign and Adrian took over as the No. 1 goalkeeper in January.
"I'm delighted to sign for another season and I'm really looking forward to it," Jaaskelainen told the club's official website. "Hopefully I can put in a proper challenge to get a starting place again."
"Physically, I feel good now and I felt good last season so I hope I can carry on from there and play football."
