The Tampa Bay Rays placed outfielder Brandon Guyer on the 15-day disabled list Monday with a left thumb fracture.
Guyer sustained the injury when he dove for a ball in the outfield during Sunday's 8-5 victory over the Boston Red Sox.

Over 28 games with the Rays this season, the 28-year-old Guyer batted .262 with one home run and six RBI.
To fill the vacated roster spot, Tampa Bay recalled pitcher Alex Colome from Triple-A Durham. The 25-year-old right-hander went 1-1 with a 2.25 earned run average over three starts for the Rays in 2013, but was suspended 50 games back in March after testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug.
