Seattle Mariners defeat Rangers 6-2

Kyle Seager went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI to lead the Seattle Mariners in a 6-2 win over the Texas Rangers to open a two-game set.

Robinson Cano, Nick Franklin and Dustin Ackley each had two hits and an RBI for the Mariners, who have won their past two.

Hisashi Iwakuma (3-0) pitched eight innings and gave up two runs on six hits with a walk and three strikeouts.

Adrian Beltre hit a solo home run and Alex Rios drove in the other run for the Rangers, who have lost five of their last six games. Colby Lewis (3-3) was touched for five runs on nine hits over six innings to take the loss.
