Bombers add former NFL running back Kevin Smith

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed running back Kevin Smith.

Smith spent five years with the Detroit Lions after being selected in the third round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He amassed 2,346 yards and 17 touchdowns on the ground, while adding 123 catches for 1,082 yards with five scores in 54 games.

The Bombers also released defensive end J.D. Griggs.
