Ducks extend GM Murray through 2020

The Anaheim Ducks and general manager Bob Murray agreed to a four-year contract extension on Monday.

Murray, 59, is now signed through the 2019-20 season.

Murray took over as GM in November of 2008 after serving as the Ducks' senior vice president of hockey operations for three-plus seasons.

The Ducks finished the 2013-14 regular season atop the Western Conference at 54-20-8, the best record in club history, and even though they lost in a Game 7 to the Los Angeles Kings in the second round, the club's future is bright.

Anaheim boasts plenty of talent in the pipeline thanks to Murray's astute drafting and was ranked No. 1 in The Hockey News' Future Watch 2014, a publication which grades the prospects and player development of all 30 NHL teams.
