Bronson Arroyo allowed just a run on seven hits to guide the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 3-1 win over the Washington Nationals on Tuesday.

Arroyo (4-2) issued just one walk while striking out seven for Arizona, winners in five of its last seven. Of Arroyo's 110 pitches, 79 went for strikes, as the 37-year-old veteran got through his first complete-game of the year. He has gone the distance 16 times in his career and at least once per season since 2006.

Paul Goldschmidt had two hits and two RBI in the triumph. Arroyo also had a pair of hits and scored a run.

Arroyo outdueled Washington ace Stephen Strasburg (3-3), who yielded all three runs on eight hits over seven frames. Ian Desmond drove in the lone Nationals run.
