Miguel Cabrera and Victor Martinez both homered in the ninth inning as the Detroit Tigers came from behind to defeat the Baltimore Orioles, 4-1, in the middle contest of a three-game set.

Tommy Hunter (1-1) took the mound in the ninth for the Orioles and was greeted with a leadoff single from Alex Avila. Rajai Davis came in to pinch-run and stole second.

After getting two outs, Hunter walked Torii Hunter before serving up a fastball that Cabrera crushed into the bullpen beyond the wall in left-center. Martinez came up next and stroked a solo shot to make it a 4-1 game.

Cabrera and Martinez both had two hits for the Tigers, who have won three of their last four.

Justin Miller (1-0) earned the win after allowing just one hit in two innings in relief of starter Drew Smyly, who conceded one run on five hits with seven strikeouts over six frames.

Adam Jones had two hits and a homer for the Baltimore, which has dropped three straight. Starter Ubaldo Jimenez spun seven scoreless innings, giving up just three hits to go with seven strikeouts.
