WASHINGTON, May 10 (UPI) -- Former Washington Redskins linebacker LaVar Arrington received a cease-and-desist letter from his former team asking him to stop using the team's brand in his current venture.

Arrington refers to himself as a "Redskins great" and uses a photo of himself in his Redskins uniform in a flyer for his Xtreme Procision tackling camps.

It seems like the team wasn't too happy with its branding getting tied up with Arrington's newest venture and asked him to stop.

And yet, the Redskins did name Arrington as one of the team's "80 Greatest Redskins of All-Time" in 2012.

Arrington took to Twitter on Friday to address the issue.

Arrington then responded during his 106.7 The Fan radio show, The LaVar Arrington Show with Chad Dukes.

He said his brochure was changed to remove the offending statement and image.

"Here's the funny thing: I don't handle those things. It's a company. I respect it. I mean, it's fine. I just thought it was funny, that's all," he said.

"They won three games last year, man. It's not like saying 'Redskins great' is going to sell out my camp. I mean, if I'm using 'Redskins great,' I mean, we didn't win very many games when I was there, so I just thought I was doing them a favor. I thought we were in it together, Chad," Arrington added.
