Clippers' Crawford named NBA Sixth Man of Year

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Los Angeles Clippers guard Jamal Crawford has been named the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year for the 2013-14 season.

Crawford claimed the honor for the second time, previously winning it for the 2009-10 campaign with Atlanta. He joined Kevin McHale, Ricky Pierce and Detlef Schrempf as the only two-time winners.

In 69 games this season, including 45 off the bench, Crawford led all reserves in scoring with an average of 18.6 points. He also notched 3.2 assists and 2.3 rebounds for a Clippers team that finished 57-25 and earned the third seed in the Western Conference playoffs.

Crawford, last year's runner-up to New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith, received 57 first-place votes and 421 points from a panel of 125 sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada to edge Chicago's Taj Gibson for this year's award. Gibson picked up 49 first-place votes and 395 points in the balloting.

San Antonio's Manu Ginobili, the 2007-08 winner, was a distant third in the voting with 138 points, followed by Phoenix's Markieff Morris (85) and Oklahoma City's Reggie Jackson (49).
